The Schell City Jail sits on the edge of town, lonely, neglected and forgotten about. With little history documented online, it seems this chapter of Schell City’s history has been shut for quite some time. Maybe if there is enough interest and attraction to visiting the jail the city will take that as an incentive to clean it up and utilize it as a way to bring in visitors.
